Is a streaming bundle cheaper than separate subscriptions?
Bundles are cheaper only if you would have bought the parts. The check that answers it, and the double payment bundles create.
The short answer
A bundle is cheaper only if you would have paid for at least two of its parts separately. Below that it is an upsell that looks like a saving. And bundles create a specific double payment: keeping a standalone subscription to something the bundle already contains, because the standalone was there first and nothing prompted its removal.

The one calculation
List the services in the bundle. Cross out the ones you would not have bought separately. Add up what remains at individual prices, and compare to the bundle.
Two or more services survive the crossing-out: the bundle usually wins.
One survives: buy that one. The rest is padding you are paying for.
None: you are being sold a discount on things you do not want, which is the oldest move in the category.
The reason this needs stating is that bundle marketing always compares the bundle price to the sum of *all* its parts, including the ones nobody wanted. That comparison is arithmetically true and practically meaningless.
The double payment bundles create
This is the specific, common and expensive failure.
You subscribe to a bundle that includes something you already pay for separately. The standalone subscription was there first, nothing prompted its removal, and both charges continue.
Apple One and standalone Apple Music is the textbook case. Apple One includes Music, TV+, iCloud+ and Arcade. Paying for Apple One and Apple Music is a straightforward double payment and it is widespread.
YouTube Premium and a music service is the second. YouTube Premium includes YouTube Music.
Mobile plans with bundled streaming. Increasingly common, and the same trap: the plan includes Netflix or Disney+, and the standalone subscription keeps running.
The moment you buy a bundle, list what it contains and cancel the overlaps that day. Not next week.
Bundles attached to something else
Mobile plans, credit cards and broadband packages increasingly include streaming. Three things to check before treating it as free.
Is it introductory? Bundled streaming frequently runs for six or twelve months and then either drops off or starts being charged. Note the date.
What happens if you leave? The bundled subscription usually ends with the plan, sometimes without warning, and the account may or may not be recoverable.
Is the plan actually cheaper? Compare the total against a cheaper plan plus the standalone subscription. Often it is close enough that the bundling is not the saving it appears to be.
Reviewing a bundle once a year
Bundles accumulate the same way individual subscriptions do, and they are harder to audit because one line on a statement hides several services.
Once a year, list what each bundle contains and which parts anyone actually used. The unused parts are not costing you separately, but they are the reason the bundle was justified, and if only one service is being used the bundle has quietly become an expensive way to buy it.
