How to Cancel Instacart+
Cancel Instacart+ before it renews. Where you are billed, the cut-off before renewal, and which perks and credits end with the membership.
The short answer
You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, so cancelling early does not lose you time. If Instacart+ came through a partner offer, such as a card benefit, you may need to cancel through that partner instead.

Before you cancel
- •If Instacart+ came through a partner offer, such as a card benefit, you may need to cancel through that partner instead.
- •A membership bought through the App Store or Google Play is billed there and has to be cancelled in those subscription settings.
- •Refunds for annual memberships are limited to a short window after purchase and generally require that no orders were placed. Check the current terms before relying on it.
Refunds
Instacart+ benefits continue to the end of the current billing period after cancelling. Annual refunds are available only within a short window and under conditions set in Instacart’s terms.
Before you cancel entirely
Before cancelling, check whether a cheaper tier or an annual plan would solve the problem. Annual billing is typically fifteen to twenty percent cheaper than monthly.
Memberships that pay only above a certain use
Delivery memberships save money only when you order often enough for the waived fees to exceed the membership. Below that, they cost more than they save — and they are easy to keep out of habit.
Meal kits: skip before you cancel
Meal-kit services usually let you skip a delivery or pause. If the problem is a busy week or a holiday, skipping is enough; cancelling ends the plan.
Check the passes you already have
Credit cards and other memberships increasingly include delivery passes. Before paying for one directly, check whether you already receive it.
If you are charged after cancelling
- •Keep the cancellation confirmation. An email or a screenshot showing the date is the document that resolves this, and it is much easier to save now than to reconstruct later.
- •If you are charged after cancelling, contact the provider first with the confirmation attached. Most reverse the charge without argument when presented with a timestamped confirmation.
- •If the provider does not resolve it, your bank or card issuer can reverse the payment. Card networks treat a charge after a documented cancellation as a straightforward chargeback, and the confirmation is the evidence you need.
- •For recurring card payments you can also instruct your bank to block future payments to that merchant. In the EU and UK, banks are required to honour this instruction even if the merchant continues to request payment.
