How to see all your subscriptions on iPhone — and the ones that are not listed there

Where your iPhone lists App Store subscriptions, how to check them on a Mac or the web, and which subscriptions never appear there and must be found elsewhere.

The short answer

On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. That list shows everything billed through your Apple account — App Store apps and Apple’s own services. It does not show subscriptions you pay directly to a company with a card, through PayPal or through your phone carrier, so a complete list needs those sources too.

The iPhone has one place for subscriptions, and it is reliable for what it covers. The common mistake is assuming it covers everything.

The path on iPhone and iPad

Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. You will see active subscriptions, and below them expired ones. Tap any subscription to see its renewal date and price, change the plan, or cancel it. If there is no Cancel button, the subscription is already cancelled and will not renew. This is the path described on Apple’s support page about cancelling subscriptions; menu labels occasionally change between iOS versions, so if yours looks different, Apple’s page has the current wording.

On a Mac, the web or Windows

On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings, and scroll to Subscriptions. Apple Music and Apple TV can also be managed on the web, and on a Windows PC through the Apple Music or Apple TV app under your account settings.

What this list does not show

Only subscriptions billed by Apple appear. Three groups never do. Services you signed up for on a company’s website and pay with a card — many streaming, news and software subscriptions work this way. Services billed through PayPal or another wallet. And services you receive through your mobile carrier or another provider, which Apple says are cancelled with that provider.

Family Sharing adds one more case: a subscription bought by another family member does not appear in your list, and you cannot cancel it — the person who bought it has to.

Finding a charge you do not recognise

Apple charges appear on card statements as a single Apple entry, which does not name the app. To match a charge to a subscription, search your email for "receipt from Apple" — each receipt names the app and the Apple account that bought it. If the receipt shows a different Apple account you also use, sign in with that account to manage it.

Cancelling, and what happens next

Cancelling stops the next renewal; you normally keep access until the end of the current period. Apple’s subscription terms renew a subscription automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends, so cancel at least a day before. For the background on why Apple and Google bill separately from everyone else, see cancelling subscriptions billed through Apple or Google.

The rest of the list

For subscriptions outside Apple, work through card statements, your inbox and PayPal — the method is in how to find all your subscriptions, and the statement part in how to spot subscriptions on a bank or card statement.

One list for Apple and everything else

The Apple list and the rest live in different places, which is why people lose track. SubTracker keeps all of them in one list with renewal dates, whoever bills them. SubTracker does not connect to your bank or to Apple, Google, PayPal or Amazon — you add each subscription once yourself, which takes about ten minutes and means nobody else sees your transactions.

Frequently asked questions

Where are subscriptions on iPhone?+

Settings, then your name at the top, then Subscriptions. The list shows active and expired subscriptions billed through your Apple account.

Why is a subscription missing from my iPhone list?+

Because it is not billed by Apple. Subscriptions paid directly to a company, through PayPal or through your carrier never appear there; neither do subscriptions bought by another Family Sharing member.

How do I find which app an Apple charge is for?+

Search your email for "receipt from Apple". Each receipt names the app or service and the Apple account that was charged.
