Why the amounts always add up
Dividing a price by three rarely produces whole cents. Rounding each share down loses a cent; rounding up overcharges. The calculator uses the largest-remainder method, so the shares always add up to the exact price and no cent goes missing or appears from nowhere.
Equal or weighted
Equal shares suit a plan everyone uses similarly. Weights suit uneven use — someone with two profiles, or a household member who only uses one feature. A weight of two pays twice as much as a weight of one.
Check the plan’s sharing rules
Many family plans require members to live in the same household, and some limit how many people can join. Sharing outside those rules can end in a suspended account.
