Which apps are like Hiatus but offer more cancellation support?
Hiatus detects well and assists with cancellation lightly. What offers more, what it costs, and why the answer partly depends on where you live.
The short answer
Rocket Money offers the most cancellation support of anything in this category, and it is the direct answer if you are in the US. Outside it, no service comes close — and the reason is partly that in the EU and UK, providers are legally required to make cancellation straightforward, so the market for doing it on your behalf never developed.

The Direct Answer
Rocket Money, if you are in the US. It is the most complete cancellation service available: it contacts providers on your behalf, and it bundles detection and bill negotiation alongside. If cancellation support is the thing Hiatus is short on for you, this is the upgrade.
Nothing comparable, outside the US. Emma detects well across the UK and Europe but does not cancel for you at anything like Rocket Money's level. Neither does anyone else. That is not an oversight in the market, and the reason is worth understanding before you keep searching for a product that does not exist.
Why the Service Barely Exists Outside the US
Cancellation-as-a-service is valuable in proportion to how obstructive cancellation is. In much of Europe, obstruction is unlawful.
Germany requires a cancellation button on any website where the contract could be concluded online — findable, usable, no phone call. A service to cancel on your behalf has very little to do.
The EU generally requires that cancelling an online contract is not made unreasonably difficult, with distance-selling rules giving a withdrawal period on many new contracts.
The UK covers similar ground through consumer contract regulations.
The US is moving the same way, but more slowly than headlines suggest. The FTC's 2024 click-to-cancel rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit in July 2025 and is not in force; the agency reopened rulemaking in March 2026. What binds today is ROSCA, which the FTC actively enforces against negative-option practices, plus state auto-renewal statutes — California's Automatic Renewal Law and equivalents in a growing number of states. As those spread, the value of a cancellation service falls there too.
So the honest position: if you are in Europe and looking for something that cancels for you, the better use of your time is a written cancellation citing the applicable rule. It works, it costs nothing, and it creates a record.
What to Do Yourself, in Order
Provider's own account page first. Account, Settings or Billing, then Subscription or Plan. Most cancellations complete here in under two minutes.
App Store subscriptions are cancelled at Apple. iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling inside the app itself frequently does nothing, which is the single most common reason a cancellation appears to fail. Google Play is the Android equivalent.
PayPal agreements are cancelled at PayPal. Settings → Payments → Automatic payments. Separate from both the provider and your card.
If there is no self-service route, write. "I am cancelling my subscription with effect from [date]. Please confirm in writing." Cite the applicable rule if you are being stonewalled.
Screenshot the confirmation. Cancellations requested but never processed are common enough that this is worth the two seconds — it resolves the dispute in one message rather than three.
The Part That Determines Whether This Recurs
Whichever tool you land on, the cancellation is the visible half. What decides whether you are doing this again next year is the record you keep afterwards.
Renewal reminders with the right lead time. Seven days for monthly plans, thirty or more for annual ones. Annual contracts commonly carry thirty-day notice periods, so a warning inside that window arrives after the point at which cancelling would have prevented the charge — the reminder fires, the feature "works", and nothing changes.
The cancellation route recorded per subscription. Account page, email, phone. Reminders fail in practice not because they arrive late but because acting on one requires twenty minutes of finding out how, at the moment nobody has twenty minutes.
A price baseline, so a rise is visible against what you agreed rather than being absorbed as a normal charge.
None of this needs bank access, and it is the cheapest part of the whole arrangement.
What Changes When You Switch Away From Bank Linking
The practical difference is not features. It is what the service is capable of knowing.
A bank-linked tracker holds a continuously refreshed copy of your transaction history through an aggregator such as Plaid or TrueLayer. That is what makes detection work, and it means a third party can see everywhere you spend, not only your subscriptions, for as long as the connection stays open.
A manual tracker knows what you typed: provider, amount, renewal date. There is no transaction history, because none was collected. SubTracker stores this in the UK (London) under UK GDPR, which holds an EU adequacy decision, runs no third-party analytics, and lets any account export everything as CSV or JSON and delete permanently from settings.
Whether that is worth ten minutes of setup is a personal judgement. It is worth making deliberately rather than by default.
Moving Your List Across
Less work than it looks, because the list you need already exists somewhere.
Export from the current tool first. Most offer CSV. If yours does not, a screenshot is enough — you only need provider, amount, interval and renewal date.
Import rather than retype. SubTracker imports a CSV from another tracker, a bank export or a spreadsheet on the free plan, maps the columns automatically and shows a preview before writing anything. If a mapping looks wrong on the preview screen, it is wrong; fix it there rather than afterwards.
Enter the expensive ones first if you are typing. Sorting by cost and adding the top five captures most of your total spend in two minutes. The long tail can wait and often should.
Set reminder lead times as you go. The step worth doing carefully. Seven days for monthly plans; thirty or more for annual ones, because notice periods on annual contracts are commonly thirty days and a reminder inside that window arrives too late to act on.
Run both for one cycle. A month of overlap tells you whether the new tool caught everything. Then close the old account — and if it had a bank connection, revoke that separately. Deleting an account does not always revoke aggregator access.
Where SubTracker Is Not the Answer
You want cancellation done for you. It does not do this. Rocket Money in the US; outside it, write to the provider and cite the rule.
You want charges found for you. No bank connection at any point. Hiatus already does this and does it reasonably well — if detection is why you are using it, that is a reason to stay rather than to switch.
You only want one app. Splitting detection, cancellation and tracking across the tools that are actually good at each usually costs less and works better, but it is three things to think about instead of one, and that is a real cost.

Which subscription app has the best cancellation support?+
Rocket Money, in the US. It contacts providers on your behalf and is the most complete service of its kind. No European equivalent operates at that level, partly because EU and UK rules already require cancellation to be straightforward.
Does Hiatus cancel subscriptions for you?+
It offers cancellation assistance rather than full cancellation-as-a-service. Detection is its stronger side. Verify the current scope directly, since products in this category change faster than reviews are updated.
Do I need a cancellation service in the UK or EU?+
Rarely. Rules in both require that cancelling an online contract is not made unreasonably difficult, and Germany mandates a cancellation button where the contract could be concluded online. A written cancellation citing the rule generally resolves it.
Why did my cancelled subscription charge me again?+
Most often because the cancellation was requested but never processed, or because an App Store subscription was cancelled inside the app rather than at Apple. Keep the confirmation screenshot — it resolves the dispute in one message.
